Our study on the total synthesis and the mechanism of action of armeniaspirol antibiotics just appeared in Chemical Science, almost 10 years after our discovery paper: rsc.li/3EeaILk #chemicalbiology #antibiotics Helmholtz-Zentrum für Infektionsforschung –inaktiv @_dzif Leibniz Uni Hannover

Very proud to say that I have been awarded a Kekulé-Fellowship by VCI. Thank you for supporting my research into new, exciting targeted drug conjugates Brönstrup Lab Helmholtz-Zentrum für Infektionsforschung –inaktiv

Federica Fiorini (postdoc in our group 2018-21, natural product metabolomics) received the Darlene Solomon Award for females in mass spectrometry today: wallstreet-online.de/nachricht/1516… Congratulations, Federica!! @helmholtz_hzi @_dzif Leibniz Uni Hannover Darryl Metcalfe #metabolomics

Our joint paper with Doron Shabat on enzyme-activated, chemiluminescent siderophore-dioxetane probes for highly sensitive bacterial pathogen detection has been published in Angew Chem: bit.ly/376CUUu #chemicalbiology #antibiotics Helmholtz-Zentrum für Infektionsforschung –inaktiv @_dzif Leibniz Uni Hannover

We are happy to enter the second round of the SPRIND challenge for novel antivirals. Thanks also to our partners, the Hilgenfeld lab, Bio-Techne and the Kikkert lab LUMC Leiden.

Volatile salinilactones, produced by the bacterium Salinispora, target disulfide-isomerases. See doi.org/10.1002/advs.2… in Advanced Science, by K. Jerye et al. of the Brönstrup Lab. This is one of the first studies describing how bacterial volatiles act.

Our study on the last resort antibiotic colistin was just accepted by Angew Chem. (bit.ly/4dF8q9n). We reduce its renal cell toxicity by a two-component strategy and bioorthogonal chemistry. #chemicalbiology #antibiotics Helmholtz-Zentrum für Infektionsforschung –inaktiv @_dzif Leibniz Uni Hannover
