Dried-out Christmas trees are a fire hazard. Are you unsure how to dispose of your natural Christmas tree. Christmas tree collection is taking place this week with your regular scheduled day for garbage and recycling.

This smoke alarm quickly alerted a family there was a fire in their basement, if they didn't have working smoke alarms it might have been too late for them to escape. Please ensure you have working alarms in your home and they are less than 10 years old.

#AlzheimersAwarenessMonth #FireSafety tip for caregivers: Eliminate space heaters – they can be fire hazards. If you must use space heaters, ensure they are kept at least one metre (three feet) away from anything that can burn. #ilivewithdementia

Last night we responded to an apartment building on Kensington Parkway for reports of smoke in the building. A fire was quickly extinguished and contained to the kitchen in one unit in the building. Cooking remains the leading cause of home fires and home fire injuries. #BeAlert

Hosting a Superbowl party this weekend? Ensure it goes superbly by making fire safety your chief concern!🏈 Stay in the kitchen while cooking and pay extra attention to make sure any cigarettes are completely out, especially if alcohol is being consumed.

Like a good #HomeFireEscape plan, a good April Fools' prank takes planning. Don’t be an (April) fool; make sure your family has a well-practiced #FireSafety plan. #AprilFools
