Teaching is rewarding but demanding—self-care often takes a backseat. I set small boundaries: lunchtime is my time, and I prioritize non-negotiable rest. I don’t check email at home and it’s not on my phone. Balance isn't perfect, but intentional steps helps. #loveSCschools

A5: There are amazing things that led you to the classroom & your Ss are lucky that you put so much of yourself into your job, but your own families & friends deserve you at your best. It’s OK if you don’t do it all I pulled back & the growth in my classroom is still just as high

The best part of student ownership is that I can still differentiate for students when I’m out because they can self-differentiate. Teachers stop managing for students what students can manage themselves! I will be in at Carnegie Hall watching my son perform. ❤️

Today we split up a recipe as a performance task on dividing fractions. Doing math on paper seems separate from doing math in real life, they struggle seeing the connection. Next week we start building a Free Little Library. Larne Elementary School

Today Mrs. Terry's 5th graders applied what they have learned about dividing fractions, as well as measurements, to make butter slime. What an amazing way to make math come to life!

Kids need more time to use the math they’re learning. My goal next year is to have a hands-on task for every standard. This build is going to be so fun!
