As part of its 50th anniversary celebrations the Texel Sheep Society will raise funds for the Farm Safety Foundation, better known as Yellow Wellies.

The Society is saddened to share that Bill Quick of the Loosebeare flock passed away peacefully in January. A service of thanksgiving for Bill's life will take place at St Peters Church, Zeal Monachorum, on Tuesday 20th February at 2pm. The family request bright colours be worn.

Congratulations to the Society's events and cataloguing manager, Ailish, who has been named as one of the 2024 NSA Next Generations Ambassador Group.

The Society office will be closed from 4pm on Friday 22nd December 2023 until 9am on Tuesday 2nd January 2024. The Society directors and staff wish all members and friends a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.

Congratulations to the Halls, Inglewood Edge, who picked up the res overall championship at LiveScot yesterday with a pair of Texel sired lambs.

The breed also shone in the saddle of lamb competition, with the championship taken by the Lairds, Cambwell, with a pure Texel

Many congratulations to Greenfield Lamb for winning the championship in the Royal Smithfield Saddle of Lamb competition at the English Winter Fair with a saddle from a Texel cross.
Greenfield Lamb also picked up the championship in the show's trade stand competition.

After a highly successful summer and autumn sales season which saw records broken at a number of sales and averages on the rise at many venues, the annual round of in-lamb sales beckons for Texel enthusiasts.
