After the final pass through the finishing mills in the Scunthorpe Rail & Section Mill the section is approx. 220m long. This is cut into manageable lengths & then transferred to the cooling bay. It is then passed through the saws which cut the steel sections to the final size.

Here's one of the final stages in the Scunthorpe Rail and Section mill. The finished sections are put together in bundles & then this machine wraps the bundles with wire at set points. This makes them easier to handle, store and transport. #BuildingStrongerFutures
