No comment on the clearly bonkers maths here, but yes it has always been our understanding that Cotham Schoolโs fence cost cยฃ30k. But the school applied for grant funding of ยฃ152k for that same fence and eventually had ยฃ84k from the public purse for it. ๐ bbc.co.uk/news/articles/โฆ
Does anyone know why the Yew Tree Farm grazing licence is managed by John Smith Bristol City Council?! Heโs one of BCCโs most senior people, what an absurd (or suspicious) waste of resources! Suzanne Audrey Joanna P. Booth Bristol Citizen Joe Banks Catherine withers Danica Priest๐ฆ๐ฆ๐ฆ๐ฆ๐๐๐
Weโve been asked for our take on Cotham Schoolโs claim that spending 00s of 000s of pounds of education money on going to court over a fence was โworth itโ because Stoke Lodge is worth ยฃ20m to them. Hereโs why we think theyโve got the numbers wrong: welovestokelodge.blog/2025/02/23/matโฆ
@Na73Dog Colin Boyle Ripped Off By Redrow Bristol Green Party Dan Bruce This is a complete lie. We have all discussed the family dispute openly since the beginning. Itโs always been a major part of the fight to save the farm. Stop spreading misinformation. Hereโs ample proof to discredit your false claim from just a 2 min search of my tweets.
Past owners of Stoke Lodge house designed their estate as an arboretum of spectacular parkland trees, many of which delight us 150+ years later. This week Bristol City Council added 3 trees for future generations to enjoy - Scots Pine, Chinese red birch and Shagbark Hickory! ๐ณ ๐
It sounds as though the Inspector didnโt think much of Cotham Schoolโs objections either. Cotham claimed Bristol City Council had failed to demonstrate the land was special to the community but oh yes, thereโve been years of TVG applications & itโs currently registered as one? ๐คฆ๐ป
At the Local Plan hearings Cotham Schoolโs head claimed that they were not consulted about Stoke Lodge being Local Green Space & said locals โsomehow knewโ about the 2019 consultation but she didnโt. Which makes this ๐๐ป tricky to explain. More on our blog welovestokelodge.blog/2025/03/30/locโฆ
