This ⬇️ is what the community has always thought and is the only rational explanation for Cotham School’s constant toxicity towards the community. Why would they never compromise? Pound signs in their eyes.

That ⬇️ was a terrible day, when Cotham School drove its unnecessary fence through the root zone of the veteran oak at the bottom of the field. It’s also a visual metaphor. The right thing to do is clearly mapped out for them, but they ignore it & do what they want, regardless.

Just when you think things don’t look good for Cotham School (a specialist maths school!), @sandrafryer14 steps up to the plate with some amazing calculations. I count at least 5 clownish errors here. Shall we just start with £20m divided by £50k? How many years? 🤡

No comment on the clearly bonkers maths here, but yes it has always been our understanding that Cotham School’s fence cost c£30k. But the school applied for grant funding of £152k for that same fence and eventually had £84k from the public purse for it. 👀 bbc.co.uk/news/articles/…

Past owners of Stoke Lodge house designed their estate as an arboretum of spectacular parkland trees, many of which delight us 150+ years later. This week Bristol City Council added 3 trees for future generations to enjoy - Scots Pine, Chinese red birch and Shagbark Hickory! 🌳 👏

It sounds as though the Inspector didn’t think much of Cotham School’s objections either. Cotham claimed Bristol City Council had failed to demonstrate the land was special to the community but oh yes, there’ve been years of TVG applications & it’s currently registered as one? 🤦🏻

At the Local Plan hearings Cotham School’s head claimed that they were not consulted about Stoke Lodge being Local Green Space & said locals “somehow knew” about the 2019 consultation but she didn’t. Which makes this 👇🏻 tricky to explain. More on our blog welovestokelodge.blog/2025/03/30/loc…

Objecting to things at Stoke Lodge seems to be an expensive knee jerk reaction for Cotham School. More litigation not education.

It’s wonderful to see posts like these, we (& WLSL) still get messages from people grateful to be able to use Stoke Lodge. Cotham school continues to challenge us - they desperately want that fence & development, but with supporters like you they will NOT wear us down. Ever.
