It's been sunshine, smiles and great times with their friends for #Year6 Discovery and Endeavour on their #BGSOutdoorEducation Journey at Camp Coolamatong and Rotamah Island.

Being a single campus means opportunities for a whole school buddy program, and this week Secondary School students spent time leading the Intermediate Big Band and mentoring Junior School boys in the Junior Concert Band.

Congratulations to William Luo (Year 9), Max Mckenzie (Year 10) and William Tan (Year 9) who represented the #APS at the VSA swimming championships, with Tim Blackwood there as selector and the APS Boys coach. Well done too, to the APS who were overall winners.

Congratulations to Year 12s Levi Ashcroft and Luke Trainor who were selected to the 2024 AFL National Academy squad. The AFL National Academy is a football and personal development program equipping young players with important skills to aid them on their footballing endeavour.

When not performing on stage as our Music Vice Captain, Elliot puts his climbing skills to the test, having recently represented Victoria in the 2024 National Youth Climbing Championships in Queensland. Well done Elliot!

After a spirited day filled with determination and endeavour, the Junior School House Cross Country champion is School House! With Armstrong House awarded the Spirit Award. Congratulations to all participants for their incredible encouragement, effort, and support of each other.

Though certainly chilly, there were plenty of beautiful Autumn blue skies for the Year 4s as they canoed, surfed and played beach games on their Outdoor Education Journey.

In May, Mt Gambier becomes the centre of Jazz in Australia for the annual #GenerationsinJazz music festival. Made up of competitions, workshops and concerts, it’s ultimately a joyful celebration of music shared with over 5000 students from all over Australia! #gij2024

Now in its 12th year, Year 6 students have been away on an incredible journey to Bathurst Island on an indigenous exchange program. The students have immersed themselves in the traditions, stories, and vibrant cultures of the Tiwi Islands making friendships and memories.

As we approach our Giving Day, we took a moment to ask our staff how they are planning to harness all that our new Centre for Science, Creativity and Entrepreneurship offers.
