Dear Graduates,

Unfortunately, we must to restrict the number of family members who are able to attend graduation even further.

All the standing and cheering get in the way of the snipers' line of sight.

Have a safe graduation!

Sincerely,

Your U. President

I really need to stop reading the admissions brochures for the universities out busting their students' heads.

It is correct that it is not an ontological claim but rather a claim about the priority of material conditions in explaining historical changes. Whether confusion about this is a “big problem” in Marxism, I’m less sure

Here's John Mearsheimer on Israel in 2010; his sober analysis is admirable, and of course he was vilified for it:

This is great news. Mandatory DEI statements aren’t the same as universities prioritizing inclusion or preventing discrimination. These statements — not fundamentally different than “Are you now or have you ever been a member of the Communist Party?” — create campus orthodoxies.

Seems bananas at first to give everyone in the class an A, but come to think of it, that may be Columbia's ordinary grading curve.

Proud of our UVA Law School students who were out there getting maced as legal observers today, documenting the completely unnecessary brutality their classmates (and some of our colleagues) endured.

Any day now the co-Founder of the Federalist Society is going to write a post arguing Trump has a constitutional right to be President for life. This man needs to just stop.

Just came across great example of the mediocrity of my academic critics, on ⁦Cambridge University Press⁩ site. Snarky, boastful, psychologising my motives rather than addressing arguments. Like a high school bitchfest. How don’t these people die of embarrassment. cambridgeblog.org/2023/10/why-ka…
