No trade-offs with lentils. Enjoy as many as you want. Leave the hard choice of whether to support animal torture or the degredation of the planet behind. 🌱🙏

This is what climate change looks like. It isn’t the apocalyptic “end of the world” nonsense some well meaning environmentalists shout about—it’s just plain old suffering, especially for the poor. And it must be stopped. There is no way to do that without ending factory farming.

I’ll pass on eating pythons for dinner. Thanks, though.

Factory farmed snakes are environmentally destructive, dangerous for farmers to be around, and subject to cruelty.

Plants are a much better option.

My latest for Fast Company.

If humanity, as it is now, multiplies the way Elon Musk wants it to, it’ll only mean replicating our acts of cruelty. We’ll be no better than a cancer of the galaxy. We are not the center of the universe. Let’s keep it that way. My latest for Fast Company.

The best book on cell-cultivated meat was authored by Paul Shapiro. I refer to it often. The updated paperback version is out today, and I couldn’t be more excited to read it. a.co/d/fKAIoBT

Perhaps the cruelest (and most important) lesson some activists learn is that the world would have been better off if they did nothing at all.

Practical ethics is very hard. Take the time to think through your values and chosen strategy as best you can.

Can you imagine reading the human resumé and thinking it’s a good idea for the species to spread across the galaxies? If that in itself is not an indictment on humanity, I don’t know what is.

New York is suing the world's largest meat company. According to the experts I talked to for my latest story for The Guardian, this could mark a tipping point for greenwashing across a wide range of sectors: theguardian.com/environment/20…

NEW Friends of the Earth (Action) STUDY: In just 6 years, US banks funneled $134 BIL into meat, dairy & feed corporations, fueling climate destruction. “Banks have committed to pathways to net zero, but they are ignoring a huge cow-shaped hole in their plans” Monique Mikhail theguardian.com/environment/20…

A lot of effort and money are being devoted to ensuring that AI will do only what humans want. But what we should be more afraid of is AI that will do what humans want. The real danger is us. My latest for Los Angeles Times.
