Attn. early career journalists -- or mid-career folks wanting to jump over to audio. This program is how I began learning the craft, 14 years ago.

If Palestinian journalists aren’t being killed by Israel, they are now being forced out. That’s how deadly Israel has made Gaza for journalists & their families.

Wael is a mountain of a man - incomparable in his service to not only Palestine but to the field of journalism.

Israel killed his wife, daughter, a son and grandson.

The next day Wael returned to work.

Israel killed his colleague and injured him.

The next day Wael returned to work.

Israel killed his other son.

The next day Wael returned to work.

One of the great men of our time.

“He was not a part of me. He was all of me.”

Watching Wael Al-Dahdouh and his colleagues report in the face of so much violence and grief and callousness has reminded me that journalists should be fighting to uphold not only truth, but humanity in the world.

First Israel killed Wael al-Dahdouh's wife, his daughter, his other son and his grandson.

Then they injured him and killed his camera operator.

Now they've killed his other son.

I don't even know how it's possible to cope with this level of loss.

There’s been such a knot in my stomach the last few days. I cannot recall a better documented & explicitly expressed ethnic cleansing in our lifetimes than what we have been witnessing for over 3 months & there’s ..nothing.

I don’t believe in despair, but its hard to run from.

Woah. I do feel that there are some sources who you sense will always be in your life, even if the relationship is not leading to a story any time soon.
