We wrote about what it's like to be disabled researchers with lived experience of what we research in a blog for The McPin Foundation! TLDR: lived experience is invaluable and should be respected in academia + good mentors are vital (1/2) #MentalHealthResearchMatters ♿🇨🇳🇨🇦🦇Disabled Pracademic 🦇🇨🇦🇨🇳♿

This afternoon Dr Brett Heasman and I had a body doubling writing + thinking session to try to process and parse out some of the ideas we've had over #ISTP2024. I read this (super cool) paper and put together a plan for a reaction on how we might apply the thoughts to ED research.

Travelling to get to the conference itself is a whole other story - watch out for a video from Dr Brett Heasman and I on that soon. Interested to hear tips and experiences from other ND folks too! (10/10)

Flow states are "heightened moments of concentration, motivation & enjoyment, leading to total absorption in the present moment." How can we create educational, personal wellbeing, & research environments that allow autistics—& autistic flow—to flourish? onlinelibrary.wiley.com/doi/10.1111/jt…

onlinelibrary.wiley.com/doi/10.1002/br… Ooo, I like this new research into autistic wellbeing. It asks a good question: What do teams mean when they test for 'wellbeing'? Often they mean, 'Are they normal yet?' It's why asking us is so important. Well worth a read.
