The flying Finn - Michelle Finn clocks the second fastest time ever by an Irish steeplechaser, taking 9 seconds off her PB with 9:29.25 in Turku. Just one second away from Róisín McGettigan's national record.

"It's fair to say that Hugh was loved by everyone he worked with during his forty-year career at the paper...Our champion has fought his final round" Beautiful tribute to Hugh Russell by Irish New editor Noel Doran. A huge loss. RIP Hugh. irishnews.com/news/northerni…

It all does come down to love in the end. Hugh gave and received love in everything that he did and along the way he made our world a better place.

Because, every four years, no matter where the Olympic Games take place, magic happens. Hugh Russell knew that better than most. ♥️

The first salmon of the 2025 season has been landed from the river Drowes. The 10lbs fish was taken on worm from the Mill Pool at 11am this morning. Water levels rose following storm Éowyn, which caused extensive damage in the area. Power returned yesterday and we are now open.
