To be buried in Nature is perpetually distracting. Everything talks to you, greets you, demands your attention: trees, flowers, the colour of the roads..

Only the truly monumental chamber of the passage grave at Crucuno in Plouharnel (Morbihan) survives. This card from 1905 or earlier by a photographer called Beaumont shows its position at the heart of the village where it still stands today.

Kibbo Kift in full 'back to nature' garb with founder John Hargrave (1928) Meaning 'To Show Great Strength' in Cheshire dialect, Kibbo Kift existed as a reaction to the trauma of WW1, merging boy & girl scout skills with utopian ideology of a better way to live.

Early start today so just a quick post of this card by Artaud-Nozais, which did not appear in volume 2, of the Grand Menhir Brisé in Locmariaquer (Morbihan). It shows 3 of the 4 fragments and their enormity is clearly indicated by the figures standing on top.

The Dolmen of Briande I in Arçay (Vienne) has a long narrow chamber (10m long x 1.8m wide) covered by a single capstone, now broken in two, resting on seven surviving orthostats. Possible evidence for a portal suggests it was a dolmen angevin. .

One of the earliest cards of the passage tomb of La Table des Marchands in Locmariaquer (Morbihan) is this one by Neurdein which was in print by 1897. It shows the main capstone and the decorated terminal slab (left) and a man sits on one of the capstones of the passage.
