NSP will have no motivation to actually improve the grid if they can make a guaranteed profit and pass off any expenses back to ratepayers.

Actually being responsible for damages might affect their bottom line enough to motivate them to do something.

NSP is seeking a one time payment from ratepayers for $22-m to cover the cost of severe storm restorations in 2023. If approved would result in a 1.3% rate hike for 2025. This is separate from its application for $25-m for left over Fiona costs from 2022. cbc.ca/news/canada/no…

Boycotts work. Don’t listen to the naysayers. A corp that makes billions will freak out even if they lose 5 - 10% of their customers. They are all about unlimited growth. We have way more power than most realize. 👊

Halifax Examiner In Nova Scotia, the poverty rate increased by 52% between 2021 and 2022 (from 8.6% to 13.1%).

That’s the highest rate in the country and surpasses the province’s pre-pandemic levels.

While parliamentarians are name calling and interrupting the business of democracy, what’s really outrageous is that 1000s of Canadians have no safe place to stay tonight, no security of home; many more are struggling to feed their families, access health care, realize justice.

Not following this new ban on cell phones in class “law”.

So teachers are supposed to act like phone cops now on top of their other duties?

This smells like another Conservative gimmick: flashy media burst about new law that is meaningless in practice.

Corporations say they were forced to raise prices.

But their profits have skyrocketed since 2020.

They hit a record high in Q4 2023.

News flash: They used inflation as cover to get rich.

I just finished standing in line for a checkout at the Superstore because you can NO LONGER ring in more than 25 items at the self-checkout. Yet, they only have 2 checkouts open to wait on people. I’m done! The barriers are one thing, but this! I’m pissed off!!!!
