Haven’t paired this one with a cigar yet, but the balance is quite noteworthy. It doesn’t wreck your palate either, so fear not! Wish I could say the same for other blends with Amburana finished whiskey as a component. Well done, Bourbonr.com! 🥃

We’re in a Golden Age of American whiskey — for consumers. Some of the best whiskey ever produced is being bottled right now. Yes, the market has softened. But in the next few years, discerning fans will get amazing spirit for fair (and even bargain) prices. Act accordingly.

An amburana finish…I actually like? Real talk: I was skeptical when Seelbach’s sent me this (no cost, no obligation). I was going to give it a fair shake. They showed remarkable restraint, and I’ll sip this all month. Lots of classic rye character, amplified — not overpowered.

As much as I like some of Derek’s content, this is misleading. Beam isn’t closing anything permanently. They’re pausing production at the Clermont, KY facility in 2026 & continuing production at the (larger!) facility in Boston, Kentucky. Important to clarify derek guy

A tribute to the working class, Seelbach’s Private Reserve “Laborer’s Blend” is a fusion of straight bourbons that results in a well integrated pour. breakingbourbon.com/review/seelbac…

For those interested, Highwire Distilling took a special red strain of corn that was nearly extinct and made a whiskey out of it. It's in line with their vision to preserve old school farming methods and lost grains. They absolutely nailed it. Here's my full review:
