Incident 3 6/1/23 Odin Mine A couple out for a days walk from Castleton when when one slipped on a muddy path below Odin Mine and sustained an ankle injury. The team responded and treated the injuries before a short evacuation back up to the road. edalemrt.co.uk

Incident 5 8/1/23 Castleton A walker slipped on a steep slope descending down into Castleton and injured their ankle. Team members deployed from base and evacuated the walker to the road. edalemrt.co.uk

Incident 80 - Sunday 9th July 2023. The third callout in succession to the Mother Cap area of the Sheffield Moors. This time to a person who had sustained an ankle injury whilst out for a Sunday walk. Treated and evacuated by stretcher to the Carpark for friends to convey onwards

Tuesday evening training this week took place in the weaseling nooks and crannies of Higger Tor. We looked at the medical issues around being crushed or trapped and practised various methods of extracting casualties from within the gritstone abyss.

Our midweek training session yesterday evening consisted of a mid air collision by two paragliders. A tricky extracation for the more seriously injured pilot and a technical rescue (led mainly by our current aspirants) for the other. All done and debriefed by sundown.

Incident 90 - Sunday 13th August 2023. We were contacted by East Midlands Ambulance Service NHS Trust to attend the popular end of Stanage Edge. A climber had sustained an ankle injury whilst enjoying an afternoon at the crag. Treated at rhe crag and evacuated to the carpark and the ambulance crew.

Despite the tempo of call-outs recently team members still turned out for Tuesday night training which was a ‘Micro Nav and Comms’ exercise nr Castleton. There was even cakes at one of the checkpoints. Our thanks to everyone that organised and helped deliver the training.
