Testing a fake darker player shadow that's under the player at all times. The data has to be hand done by the developer but its worth the work for players to always have a drop shadow showing them where they are at all times in 3D space. #gamedev #indiedev #thursdayvibes

So for a couple days now and even my birthday yesterday iv been banging my head against the keyboard to get BOKUBE running in unity 6 LTS upgrading it from unity 2017 all the way to unity 6 LTS. I fixed ALL ERRORS but found incontrol from unity 2017 the will never work in 6..

Reverting back to Unity 2017 and just finishes and launching the game in unity2017. I did this engine shit work just to get PS5 controllers working but steam has some kinda controller customization support that will make switch pro/PS5 controller support work instantly anyway.

In the future il probably hire someone else to upgrade the engine for me since im having way too much trouble with incontrol stuff from unity 2017. But for now im focusing on finishing the game and launching it on steam.

Added a splash screen to Bokube when you start the game that explains "Unless played with STEAM overlay controller settings "BOKUBE" supports these control methods natively:" so PS5 controller users on itch that aren't using steam don't get confused; their gamepad isnt working.

Made the double hop jump smoother so playtesters don't think boku is bugged because before he would teleport up and not smoothly lerp up for the double jumping. Tutorial has "text zones" so returning to a pervious area of it re-enables the pervious text. #gamedev #indiegame

You can now cancel dashing with F key of a keyboard or X button of a gamepad. You can still cancel dashes the old way of hop jumping. But this was a playtester request for more quicker ways of canceling a dash and having more options of control over Boku.

Changes to the bombs*  "Touch a BOMB CUBE to turn it on. (X) BUTTON OR (F KEY) TO EXPLODE ONCE BOMB IS ON AT ANY DISTANCE AWAY FROM BOMB". The bomb turns RED when it is on instead of staying blue and the text mentions you can explode it from as far away from the bomb as you want.

Added a laser introduction to the desert temple level so the player will know to burn ghosts with lasers. The prompt for this is large and explains the rotation can be done at any distance away from the cube.
