Excitement is high in Gr 7 Sc as students 3-D printed a “house for their mouse” in their Heat & Temp unit. The mouse will be placed outside and hopefully not turn into a mousicle! #becurious Amanda Millette (she/her) Rundle College Jr. High
A big thank you to Bow Habitat Station for letting us raise rainbow trout eggs in the science classroom and to Enerplus Corporation for helping fund our aquarium setup. The eggs are hatching into alevins and we are beyond excited! Rundle College Jr. High #becurious #FinSprogram
They are growing so much! Excitement is high as staff and students pop by to see how these guys develop and change Bow Habitat Station #FinSProgram Rundle College Jr. High #becurious
Sc8 has officially submitted its summary video of our remediation project, From Surface Spills to the Ocean Floor to National Geographic Society Slingshot Environmental Challenge Wish them luck! #becurious Rundle College Jr. High
Who better to assist with bridge building than a structural engineer! Many thanks to Rundle parent Nancy Guirgous for taking the time on a cold snowy day to share her expertise and increase the quality of the Sc7 bridge projects. #becurious Rundle College Jr. High Amanda Millette (she/her)
Science 8 got to experience a sheep eye dissection with the aid and exemplary instruction of Rundle Parent Dr. Patrick Gooi. Much appreciation for presenting real-life applications of techniques and inventions in the field of medicine. #becurious Rundle College Jr. High
I am so fortunate and grateful to be at the National Science Teaching Association Conference in Atlanta Georgia. The sessions and exhibits are overwhelmingly amazing. Can't wait to implement back at Rundle College Jr. High #becurious
We are so very grateful to receive funding from the Alberta Emerald Foundation Youth grant to further our project. The fish are thriving due to the great care of our jr high students! Bow Habitat Station Alberta Emerald Foundation Enerplus Corporation Rundle College Jr. High #finSProgram
The grade 7’s did an excellent job presenting what they have learned about life cycles, water quality, and trout populations to our grade 3 students from the elementary. A valuable experience for all involved! Bow Habitat Station #finSProgram #becurious Rundle College Jr. High
Sc8 students explored natural selection at its finest, by visiting various Galapagos islands and attempting to consume different food items by using eyedroppers, pliers, spoons, and tweezers as beaks. #Darwinwouldbeproud #becurious Rundle College Jr. High
Last week Sc7 stayed overnight at the Royal Tyrrell Museum in Drumheller and hiked the badlands, dug for dinos, and made casts of fossils. No sleep was had but tons of fun! #becurious Rundle College Jr. High
We did it! 50 rainbow trout fry were released into the Strathmore pond by these excellent Gr7 fish and water quality experts. The classroom seems empty without them! #justkeepswimming #FinSProgram #becurious Bow Habitat Station Rundle College Jr. High
What a "sweet" way to end off our Sc7 Planet Earth unit, graham cracker & icing tectonic plates, and starburst rock cycle formations. #becurious Rundle College Jr. High
It's the cutest day of the year! The grade 8's did a fantastic job reviewing their exam material for our kindergarten classes, and some adorable new friendships were made as well! #Kindercollab #becurious Rundle College Jr. High
The science is sciencing in our brand-new labs! Thank you so much to all who have donated and worked on putting together such a beautiful space to aid in our hands-on experiential learning. 👩🔬 #becurious Rundle College Jr. High
Sc7 learned how to recreate the water cycle by creating a cloud in a beaker and I learned that Sc7 is not camera shy! #becurious Rundle College Jr. High
Some lightbulb moments in our electricity unit in Science 9, these kids are really bright! 😎 Rundle College Jr. High #Becurious
Another successful rainbow trout release! Rundle students did an excellent job checking the water quality and sending the fish off to thrive in their new ecosystem 🐡 #becurious Rundle College Jr. High Bow Habitat Station #FinSProgram
