48 yrs ago this week I had this same view on a campus visit. I would like to tell that 17 yr old to relax and enjoy the ride, because it is going to be a major blessing to have Sam Houston Athletics and Sam Houston State in his life.

This is a picture in my parents house of my Dad #43 when Rice Football beat ATM 7-6 at Rice Stadium in 1957 to win the SWC and go to Cotton Bowl. If you enlarge it you will see Bear Bryant on the sideline.

Walking around the stadium and reminiscing about special moments between father and son was moving for him and for me observing. Also, he is now on the visiting side and a Bearkat win makes it even more special! Thank you Bobby for letting me tag along for your special day. (2/2)

Great Day To Be A BEARKAT!

Past 6 months of care for my Mom after her fall, my neck pain/surgery, losing my Mom last week, not seeing my Sam Houston Athletics play enough has been tough. But today I’m blessed to be with the 3 most important people in my life! Tomorrow I get to see my Bearkat Football! Great days ahead!

Worked in this press box since the first game in ‘86. Won the first game, along with championship/first FCS playoff appearance. Yesterday, final win and chance for another championship. Thankful for this press box, will miss it, but ready for new one! Great time to be a Bearkat!
