Forty years ago today. Return of the Sketch-A-Graph. Doug and me used the 'tree at the cricket club' as our base of operations for a while, it was a hollowed-out stump at the side of the pitch where we could discuss girls and the Sinclair ZX81 computer.

Nice quiet Bank Holiday. Got a bit of writing to do, and I'll have a little potter as well. Stillness. Silence. Gentle calm.

It's been a year now since 'Simon Perkins' Lurgy' came out, and we've only just noticed the spectral TV announcer hiding on the cover. Has he always been there?

More memories of the lost 'Fellfoul' movie. It only had a single TV screening, in 1983, and that was unscheduled because the live Quoits tournament from Danby had been rained off. Still, we don't think anyone who saw it will ever forget the waterfall scene.

Some lovely feedback coming in about 'Fellfoul' - thanks everyone. And sorry to all who asked, but we really don't have a copy of the 1983 film version. Just the opening titles on an old VHS. We think the dragon looks great though, far better than all this modern CGI rubbish.

Well now, here's a thing. This curious recording has fallen into our possession, and appears to be a 1970s children's programme running a feature on the original 'Fellfoul' books. We know exactly who and what it sounds like, but it can't be... can it?

Forty years ago today. I think 'the lad' came to deliver the van, he wasn't just a passing waif. And hard luck Belle and the Devotions, 1984 was all about Diggi-Loo-Diggi-Ley.

It honestly didn't strike us until the end of the day, but the studio we used to record 'Fellfoul' couldn't have had a more appropriate name! Here's Eleanor herself - the great Aja Dodd - paying her own tribute. Thanks to @newstma in Stockton for a great day's recording.
