Thrilled to chat with the amazing Dorothy Moskowitz for Electronic Sound. About Fluxus, The United States of America, Bebe Barron turning her into a Droog, narrating Sesame Street's 'Cracks' animation... and her wonderful new album with Peter Olof Fransson, The Afterlife! Out now...
Forty years ago today. Pinned together my Strika and fixed up my Chopper, all ready for our home-made 'BMX course' in the garden. #aquestionofspork
Forty years ago today. We'd never seen that 'mud track leading to a playground' before, so jumped to the swift conclusion that we'd passed through a portal into another dimension. No, really. For your entertainment, here's a re-enactment in that very location. #washedmychopper
Utterly spellbinding & our village hall was packed to the rafters with over 200 (!) happy people: Amelia Coburn (with Mat Hunsley in support & our celebrity (!) introducer Bob Fischer). It's the reason why we put on gigs @ Hutton Rudby & I'll remember this for a long time.
There is a nice little piece by Bob Fischer in the new Electronic Sound ,mainly about my next album “The Slaughtered Lamb Sessions,” coming soon on Castles in Space . Scary music written inside the pub itself!
Fondly remembering the sunny Tuesday lunchtime when Stephen Brotherstone Art, Rebecca Little and me formed early 1970s folk-pop band Wickettywack outside a cafe in Liverpool. We'd split up by the time the sticky toffee pudding arrived, but they really were the most marvellous times.
Yorkshire weirdies! Get down to the already wonderful Ryedale Folk Museum this summer, it's got a brilliant - and huge - exhibition about witchcraft and folk magic running until November. Genuine witch posts, crystal balls, corn dollies, the lot. Plus a one-eyed cat that stares you out.
