This is a tough but important episode to listen to. Did you know that animals were used in car crash tests? And in psychological experiments, primates are kept in a small cage all of their lives? Animals are not ours to use.

I just had the pleasure of hearing Joshua Cohen’s annual lecture at University of Oxford. Professor Cohen made several excellent and timely points around algorithms and fairness - to which the entire room was deeply engaged. The energy was palpable. One point he made (that I haven’t

FOR ALL PAPER REVIEWERS: 1. Thank you. 2. Please do not put confidential comments to editor that are not in line with your comments to authors--it confuses them and makes it hard to understand editorial decisions. 3. SUPER appreciate reviewer suggestions if you cannot review.🙏

Restoration progress is slow today it seems. Very slow. Believe less than 100k have come back. These things are hard and I’m the first in line to share that with people. But this is pretty bad. I don’t want to hear that the state is looking at this. This needs to be federal.

Second week of the semester and I've already had students use (and own up to using) ChatGPT to write their first assignment: "briefly introduce yourself and say what you're hoping to get out of this class". They are also using it to word the *questions they ask in class*.
