Middleton Top is on the High Peak Trail.
It houses the restored steam engine house built in 1829 by the Butterley Company to haul wagons up the Middleton incline. Only 5 minute drive from Hog Cottage.

A must visit is The Banqueting Hall at Haddon Hall. This magnificent room dates back to 1370. The opposite corner to the Dais table and tapestry, this part of the room doesn’t enjoy as much attention but it is equally as wonderful!
