February is Black History Month, a time to reflect on the invaluable contributions of Black Americans to our nation. Let us honor and recognize the extraordinary achievements of Black Americans in every part of American life and culture.

On the 1st day of BHM, a special thank you to my parents who always instilled in my sister & me a strong sense of pride in our Black identity. Without this foundational support, we would’ve never been able to navigate this country’s racist & exclusive spaces & still remain whole.

On this day in 1960, four black college students staged a sit-in at a whites-only lunch counter at Woolworth's in Greensboro, NC. They sparked a national movement across the country. Instructions were simple: sit quietly and wait to be served. #BlackHistoryMonth
