I should (again) clarify that you can drink whatever you like - as I do - but there appears to be a complete disconnect at times with our 'good' food people and 'good' drink people. Irish beer needs a better PR dept. and Irish food needs a less blinkered approach to beverages ...

What a truly spectacular beer from Black Donkey Brewing in the heart of Co Roscommon - the blend of saison, the mixed fermentation & the sweetness & bitterness from the oranges - absolutely stunning - seek it out folks

While I agree with this from Una Mullally, why does every article on Irish pubs or drinking culture always feature a picture of Guinness? We have ~100 Irish owned breweries on this island, why not highlight them instead? Diageo don’t need your free advertising. #DrinkIrish

From Thursday, every can we sell will carry a 15c deposit. The Deposit Return Scheme is excellent in principle. In practice it's very tough on small producers like Kinnegar, as excellently articulated here on RTÉ Radio 1 by Ballykilcavan and @KingofKefir rte.ie/radio/radio1/c…

Please - if you are talking to your public representatives - ask them to put pressure on Re-Turn to make the Re-Turn logo OPTIONAL on containers. m.independent.ie/irish-news/why…

One of my observations on this scheme is, it seems to be overly focused on avoiding fraud. The primary driver should have been on capturing as many cans as possible for return.

O thread worth reading. Re-turn should never have been set up my big business. There was little consultation with small retailers or producers / importers.

We're having to affix this Re-Start DRS logo to 460,000 pre-printed cans. Microbreweries need to order cans in large volumes long before they're used, unlike big producers For us, it takes 2 people x 1 full day to put DRS stickers on 2,000 cans. #depositreturnscheme

Dear diary, it’s been 25 days now since the big blow. 25 #cold, #dark days with no means of communicating with the outside world. No #landline, no #broadband. Sometimes it feels like we’ve been #abandoned. Vodafone Ireland vodafone wherefor art thou?
