The Security Council resolution passed today is clear: Immediate ceasefire. Immediate release of all hostages. Humanitarian assistance must reach Gaza and civilians must be protected. We call on all parties to the conflict to heed this clear call from the international community.

The terrorist attacks in Moscow are appalling - attacks directed at civilians can never be justified. We condemn terrorism in all its form and manifestations. Our thoughts are with the victims and their families.

Russia again shows its disregard for civilian lives. It is a threat to freedom, democracy and to our way of life. Ukraine needs all our support now.

I was proud to introduce a draft resolution for Iceland´s long-term support to Ukraine in Parliament last night. It reflects Iceland´s strong and unwavering solidarity with the People of Ukraine. Now it will be deliberated before final decision by Alþingi
