Had a look in Flo's code to try another correction to her and Worobey's new paper. Their model rests on the idea that market worker cases will have residences further on average than shoppers or passers-by which could help explain the closer clustering of unlinked cases. (thread)

Thread discussing the response of Michael Worobey and Florence Débarre to Michael Weissman's analysis indicating proximity ascertainment bias in early COVID-19 cases.

Professor Michael Weissman showed mathematically that the early case data relied on by Worobey et al to argue COVID-19 began at Huanan Seafood Market was affected by ascertainment bias. George Gao and Jeremy Farrar acknowledged this too. Worobey has responded, unconvincingly.

When you start pulling the thread, it all leads to EHA being a front shop for US Intel working with the defense on a Track II Biological Thread Reduction Program.

It’s nothing new. Standard game.

Ben Pierce Select Subcommittee on the Coronavirus Pandemic Xia used >80,000 dated early SARS2 genomic sequences and found their MRCA to be 15th Aug 2019 - unequivocal evidence that the samples from vicinity HSM were not from the start of the pandemic.

I tell nature suspension of federal funds to EcoHealth Alliance is appropriate. A robust oversight system must actively practice trust-building and accountability--all the more important for research with pandemic risks where accidents could affect us all

Great Select Subcommittee on the Coronavirus Pandemic, but why aren't you asking Tabak why he signed off on research to be conducted at the PLA's bioweapons lab in Beijing? By the mysteriously dead PLA officer Yusen Zhou, and his widow Lanying Du - who is a coronavirus FCS expert, and still working in the US?

Alina Chan Charity Navigator Charity Navigator: Please clarify your 100% rating of EcoHealth Alliance. Does your rating indicate that EcoHealth is 100% a grift, 100% a fraud, 100% a criminal enterprise, or 100% culpable for causing pandemic that killed 20 million and costing $25 trillion, or all of the above?

Morens, a senior advisor to Fauci for decades, wrote in an email to Dr. Daszak...

'I learned from our FOIA lady here how to make emails disappear after I am FOIA’d but before the search starts. So I think we are all safe.'

Peter Jacobs Gao and Baric both said they don’t think the pandemic started at Huanan market and that it was a superspreader. You omitted the fact that lineage A0 and intermediate A/B genomes were not found in Huanan linked cases and all human cases linked to Huanan were lineage B.

I am not constitutionally committed to the research related origin hypothesis. It’s just that virtually all of the available evidence points to a research related origin in Wuhan and there is basically no convincing evidence supporting a market origin.

Peter Hotez is not happy EcoHealth Alliance is to be debarred from federal funding. Can he explain how the millions in funding they received to study SARS-related coronaviruses with the Wuhan Institute of Virology helped with SARS-CoV-2?

🚨The National Institutes of Health admits to funding gain-of-function research in Wuhan, China🚨

Congresswoman Debbie Lesko: 'Did NIH fund gain-of-function research at the Wuhan Institute of Virology through EcoHealth?'

Dr. Tabak: “If you're speaking about the generic term, yes, we did”

Good point - Jocelyn Kaiser Science Magazine readers should be aware that Peter Hotez subcontracted gain-of-function research to the Wuhan Institute of Virology. He is not an impartial observer.

Lawrence Gostin They didn't simply 'research' dangerous viruses, they created them in a lab through gain of function experimentation conducted at inappropriately low biosafety, and then misled congress and the public about this after an outbreak occurred near that very lab.
