Our crew is wrapping up work in the College Hills neighborhood of Birmingham. Today they’re disconnecting the old water main. All customers in this area have been connected to approximately 2,400 feet of new 4” and 8” ductile iron concrete lined pipe. 🚧🦺

Three independent experts toured the Lake Purdy Dam construction site this morning. The experts were hired by the Board of Directors of Central Alabama Water (CAW) in late October to review the Lake Purdy Dam rehabilitation project.

The Lake Purdy Dam rehab project reached a major milestone today! Our contractors installed the first batch of RCC - roller compacted concrete. The RCC is a structural support that will strengthen the more than 100-year-old dam.

Here’s a look at the three 16” valves our contractors replaced this weekend along Highway 280. We took advantage of ALDOT’s lane closure to upgrade our infrastructure. Valves are used to route water around our system and control flow for maintenance and repairs.💧
