This trip to state for Niles Viking Football started almost a decade ago with kids like Sam Rucker, Talen Bennett and Paul Hess III who loved to play football. But to a man they said it would not have happened without Scot Shaw coming into their lives.

If there was one question about Niles Viking Football entering the season, it was how Talen Bennett would do at quarterback. The senior has had nothing but answers, and his leadership is a big reason Scot Shaw’s squad is playing for a state title Friday.

Couldn’t be prouder of these guys, we didn’t play the way we wanted in this game but they will be able to look back with pride at what they accomplished. Who’ da thunk!!!!!
