Border liaison officers seized 2.2 tons of meth in Laos in the Golden Triangle, a top drug trafficking hub. This success, made possible with UN Office on Drugs & Crime training & support of US & Canada, shows how technical assistance & cross-border cooperation can push back against organized crime.

Over 236 tons of meth were seized in Southeast Asia in 2024. Criminal networks are becoming more agile, using unregulated chemicals & new tech to outpace the law. We urgently need stronger enforcement, tighter controls & investment in border capacity. unodc.org/roseap/uploads…

Toxic chemicals☣️ from illegal drug labs in #Cambodia are putting lives and the environment at risk. UN Office on Drugs & Crime-trained specialists have already removed 100+ tons safely. The aim? To prevent these chemicals from reentering the drug economy. The next step? Safe disposal.
