Congratulations to all those students awarded pass grades 1, 2 and 3 in their GCSEs today. For some it will be less than they wanted, but for others it will bring a great sense of achievement to be celebrated. The next stage awaits.

Tried to reinforce this today by hiding the numbers and asking them to estimate each question. Once they got more confident I asked them to think of something no one else would choose.

After eleven years, it's time to update my London Underground concentric-circles-and-spokes map. Completely redrawn from centre to edges, it's so much better than before, and more geographically accurate than the official map.

A level grade distributions by subject showing performance for all students, those who took single maths, maths & further maths or no maths at all. Yes, I know about correlation and causation but it still show us how maths students perform better across all subjects

23.9m UK households have access to BBC. More UK Children are not able to access CBeebies, CBBC & CITV. Instead of balanced diet including Numberblocks, children are using "on demand", youtube or... books? Is it library books? could it be? #SocialCohesion theguardian.com/media/article/โ€ฆ
