Today I spoke with H.E. President of Togo Faure Gnassingbé. I congratulated him on his appointment as the African Union’s Mediator to the conflict in eastern DRC and welcomed his leadership. We discussed how the 🇬🇧 can support African-led efforts towards a sustainable peace.

On the Chad-Sudan border this week, I saw how the UK is helping to deliver life-saving support to some of the world’s most vulnerable people. I met women and children, whose lives are on hold because of the war in Sudan. The UK will not let Sudan be forgotten.
