I’m super excited to have successfully defended my PhD yesterday! I’m so thankful to Spencer Szczesny for the years of mentorship and guiding me in this journey.
Job(s) alert! I'm recruiting 2 PhD students to join my lab Biomedical Engineering @ UDEL starting Fall 2023. Projects include imaging, robotic testing, wearables, and postnatal growth studies. Find me at #BMES2022 or via email to learn more! International Women in Biomechanics BlackBiomechanists ORS Tendon Section ASME-BED_Students
Super excited to officially become Dr. Peterson. I’ll always be so grateful to Spencer Szczesny for mentorship in this academic journey and can’t wait to for future opportunities in the Jenna Galloway as I move forward. #TeamTendon
Hey, #ORS2023 attendees! Join us for the inaugural Orthopaedic Research Society Education RIG entitled Orthopaedic Research: Beyond the Lab & Into the Classroom 🦴🧑🏫 Sunday, Feb. 12 from 11:30 AM - 12:30 PM CST. Come learn about all things pedagogy, outreach, and professional development! 🙌
📢Proud to share our postdoc case study at Harvard Medical Postdoc Association Harvard Medical School with 1200 postdocs is online now Nature Biotechnology🧵 We talk of postdoc shortage, inclusive excellence & retaining postdocs without acting on what has been said repeatedly. NIH rdcu.be/c5HAx 👇👇👇
Congrats to Krishna Pedaprolu on his second paper! Although mouse Achilles tendons degenerate with fatigue loading, he found that they exhibit very little collagen denaturation, suggesting that this damage mechanism does not initiate tendon degeneration. doi.org/10.1016/j.jbio…

I am so happy to share our recently published paper on #tendon #regeneration (doi.org/10.1038/s41536… and rdcu.be/dmtJA) published with Springer Nature in npj Journals #RegenerativeMedicine!
And check out the great work from the Smeeton lab (Smeetonlab) on zebrafish ligament regeneration (doi.org/10.1038/s41536…)! Published back-to-back, these works showcase the power of zebrafish in illuminating mechanisms underlying connective tissue regeneration!
I am excited to share my latest work in the Jenna Galloway and I am grateful for my phenomenal advisor Dr. Jenna Galloway, my collaborators Delmy, Suyash, Junming, Dulanjalee, Joseph, Ilya, Dr. Scott Martin, Dr. Len Zon, Dr. Schlaeger, Lick Pui Lai, Dr. McMahon and Dr. Craft. (1/n)
We are excited to share our work from Jenna Galloway with the amazing help of Steph Tsai Daniel Montoro, Dr. Miho J. Tanaka @dingwallaby, Ben Freedman, and others. "A latent Axin2+/Scx+ progenitor pool is the central organizer of tendon healing" npj Journals : go.nature.com/4h9rsHs
