2- The US gains lasting influence in countries by them buying US arms, it's a form of soft power because countries need to maintain good relations with the countries that supply their arms to them to ensure the arms, parts and updates keep coming. #NATO #geopolitics

1- there is a large misunderstanding of how NATO benefits the US and all it's members. The US gains economies of scale for it's defense manufactures, bringing down per unit cost for arms for the US military, Europe gains this same benefit by buying US arms #NATO #geopolitics
