If you 'disagree with the settlements' and 'support a two-state solution' but also support continued US military assistance and diplomatic cover for Israel to continue doing whatever it likes, you do not in fact hold the first two positions in any remotely meaningful sense.

Thanks Ben. That is my goal going forward, and I dare say that I learned a few things and found myself taking a second look at my own views, which (in the spirit of the Socratic/Platonic dialogues) are rarely set in stone.

I think Bill Burr has a majoritarian position, a commonsense defense of Palestinian civilians, and Bill Maher sounds like a lunatic. I wish the president agreed.

Thoughtlessly, I'd scheduled the first day of the Capital class for the 12th since I was waiting until after the Princeton trip and this was the first Sunday after I was back, but as quite a few people (including my mom) pointed out to me, the 12th is Mother's Day, so...the 19th!

This is a fact and it’s awful. It’s also a fact that many Israelis have been cheering on the destruction of Gaza and many Americans cheered on the invasion of Iraq. None of that means that the entire society forfeits all rights and is fair game to be slaughtered.
