These are the only 4 on the reserve at the moment. I find it baffling that some bird track entries from other members have totals of 25 and 40?? We don't get those numbers on a vis mig in the autumn these days. It's not the only Species that's over counted.

A few shots of the 2 1st summer Spoonbills that were present between 10.45-11.27am. The 14th reserve record, though it has become an annual occurrence in recent years.

Grasshopper Warbler reeling 1.5 miles north of Codsall along Port Lane in large rape field opposite Long Birch Farm at 6am. 3 Ring-necked Parakeet flew south over Belvide at 8.09am.

3 Greenland Wheatear at the west end today. Nice apricot flush extensively down the underparts. Also darker grey mantle. Early? but seem ok to me. Also the Scaup showed well. A Greenshank and 2 Ruff thru at 5pm.

Female Scaup between Gazebo bay and west end hide. First Common Tern thru early afternoon. 15 Common Sandpiper. 3 male Wheatear at west end.

4 Yellow Wagtail dropped on the north shore in the late afternoon rain. Only the 2nd record this spring. 2 male Wheatear on the shingle island.

More Brambling arriving, with 3 males at the Gazebo feeders. Also a flock of 30 flying around a copse just west of the reserve.

Nice to see a few Brambling turning up the last few weeks as they have otherwise been scarce this winter. This bird has been at the Gazebo feeding station.
