Like, this is the editor in chief of the British Medical journal making sure we know that he thinks you can do a double-blind trial on puberty itself

TLDR of the Cass Review:

'we disregarded nearly all studies because they weren't double blinded controlled studies. We also stopped reviewing newer studies released in the last two years. As a result, we were left with very little evidence.'

This is an impossible standard.

🚩When reports throw out studies on HRT and Puberty Blockers solely because they lack being blind it's bad science and transphobic.

It's literally IMPOSSIBLE to have a double blind study for HRT/Blockers because people will notice if they are going through puberty or not.

If you put forward a paper where they rejected 98% of the evidence that clearly disproved their stance for peer review and publication you wouldn't even get a written response beyond, 'Paper rejected without review, does not meet minimum standards.'

I'm a psychologist w/actual expertise in this area. There is NO evidence that gender dysphoria commonly develops secondary to mental health conditions. There IS evidence that dysphoria, non-affirmation, & bias CONTRIBUTE to the development of mental health conditions. Infuriating

They seem to literally think people under 25 should not be able to choose their own clothes. This would be laughable if it wasn't literal fascism, endorsed by Government & by the leading opposition party.

This is a bad mis-step on Stonewall's part. The #CassReview is an attack on Gillick competence. It's unevidenced claim that brains do not mature until 25 is potentially something that will be used to attack Equal Age of Consent and Equal Marriage.

The clinics were not 'unco-operative'

They said that it would be unethical to share patient data because it would.

Clinics are not 'trans people'. They are health facilities treating trans people.

The question was 'did Cass speak to trans people'.
