Ever wondered whether developers care more about the climate crisis or profits? Look at all the new buildings going up. Do they have solar panels?

It's day 89 of reminding the City of Edmonton that when people with disabilities can't attend events at city facilities due to barriers to accessibility, it isn't an inconvenience and it's harmful to the disability community to refer to it as such. That minimizes human rights of

Jason Nixon You're the minister of social services. You can't even support people with visual impairments by taking 30 seconds to add ALT text on your social media. That says a lot about your commitment to the disabled community. If you simply don't know how, ask.

It's day 95 of reminding the City of Edmonton that barriers to accessibility for persons with disabilities are human rights issues. They are not merely inconveniences. It's also day 95 of asking the city you provide proper training on inclusivity and ableism to staff, managers,

It's day 100!!! Day 100 of asking the City of Edmonton to provide proper training on inclusivity and ableism to staff, managers, decision makers, and council members. Why? Because if that training had been in place a few years ago we wouldn't have had to ask the city why we

Maybe when you're at this event you can get developers to stop increasing rents! If you're not aware, rents went up by 17% in Edmonton, so maybe instead of celebrating with developers, you can actually help people pay rents!

It's day 115 of reminding the City of Edmonton that it is not an "inconvenience" when disabled residents can't utilize city facilities and services or participate in taxpayer funded events because of barriers to accessibility. It's a human rights issue. They should know that. But

Agreed. Developers have also made a lot of profit by raising rents, but the city administration rewards them in the form of a zoning bylaw that puts profits over the housing and climate crises.

Is it fair considering that you and your fellow councillors have recieved a larger raise than actual city workers? Do you and your fellow councillors think that you are more important than city workers?

Belmac Neighbors (@belmacgroup) 's Twitter Profile Photo

You are one of the highest paid mayors in Canada and you get a 2.4% pay increase this year, yet you refuse to give a 2.5% pay increase to city workers. Edmontonians voted for you because they thought you would be a compassionate and empathic mayor...

It's day 129 of reminding the City of Edmonton that barriers to accessibility are not "inconveniences". When we couldn't get into dog parks at off leash rinks for 2 summers we were told it was an "oversight". Inconvenience and oversight are words used to make it sound better. It

Your myth-busting skills could use some work! Without community engagement or regulation, developers will put profits over greenspace. But, community engagement works! For example, in McKernan, a developer donated to upgrade Charles Simmonds Park due to community engagement.

This council has been full of failure after failure. Right now you are effectively saying you are terrified of an investigation. You should focus more on improving the lives of Edmontonians (Excluding developers) than posturing for the next election!

Belmac Neighbors (@belmacgroup) 's Twitter Profile Photo

The reason why apartments in Belgravia/McKernan have greenspace is because the community is actively involved, not because of the goodwill of developers. We need more community involvement, not less!
