Huge thanks to Beisel Lab, Katharina Wandera, & Frank Eglert, from Helmholtz Institute Würzburg (HIRI), for sharing their cell-free TXTL expertise. Big thanks to Rimvydė Čepaitė and Patrick Pausch from Vilnius University for their help with the protein-protein/DNA work! 5/8
Super excited to kick off #CRISPR2023 with our keynote speaker Virginijus Šikšnys! #conferencevibes Helmholtz Institute Würzburg (HIRI) Universität Würzburg #UniWürzburg
Our postdoc Chunlei Jiao presented his recent findings at #CRISPR2023 today. If you have the chance also look at posters number 41, 43, and 48 from other lab members Katharina Wandera Anzhela Migur Oleh Dmytrenko 🇺🇦
Did you enjoy @crispr2023 or want to come to the next one! The #crispr conference will be in ChristchurchNZ organised by Peter Fineran, Dipa Sashital Gavin Knott and Bridget Watson. Check out the website crispr2025.org
#CRISPR arrays are a compact way for nature to encode #gRNAs, but their ability to acquire new spacers keeps them longer than necessary for CRISPR technologies. #HIRI's Beisel Lab now shows that CRISPR-Cas9 arrays can be shortened without compromising: doi.org/10.1080/154762…
Listen up, #CRISPR Fan(zor)atics! ✂️🧬 In a new Molecular Cell spotlight, Beisel Lab's Constantinos Patinios recaps Feng Zhang's recent remarkable discovery describing eukaryotic #RNA-guided DNA endonucleases, called Fanzors. Read more here: authors.elsevier.com/a/1hjJC_OylrlC…
Having trouble with transforming your favorite bacteria with valuable genetic cargo? Try IMPRINT🙌🏻! A sophisticated TXTL-based pipeline developed by Justin Vento Beisel Lab Fun and long-lasting collaboration between Nathan Crook Beisel Lab members! Grateful to be part of it☺️
Such as pleasure to host Beisel Lab as a #ChafferFellow University of Otago Microbiology and Immunology Otago. An amazing tour de force talk today titled “#CRISPR: a bottomless well of discovery and innovation”
(1/2) 🚨 Check out Beisel Lab’s recent work in Nucleic Acids Res reporting new Anti-CRISPR proteins. They were discovered in a bacterial #pathogen with two extensively self-targeting Type I #CRISPR-Cas systems, and the Acrs block #DNA degradation but not DNA binding.
Our brilliant team member, Chunlei Jiao will start a new adventure with his own lab at NUS in Singapore next year! A huge congratulations to him on this achievement. #CRISPR #PostdocPositions #PhDPositions
Exciting advance addressing a long-standing challenge: efficiently transforming DNA! Congrats to Justin Vento on his new paper introducing IMPRINT. Helmholtz Institute Würzburg (HIRI) ncstatecbe doi.org/10.1016/j.molc…
#CRISPRCas systems have become a plentiful source of technologies for molecular diagnostics. #HIRI’s Beisel Lab has now expanded this extensive toolbox. PUMA enables the detection of RNA with Cas12 nucleases, which naturally target DNA. 🧬🐈🧵 Read more: helmholtz-hiri.de/en/newsroom/ne…
Check out the exciting work of Chunlei Jiao on the PUMA technology for the precise detection of RNA with DNA-cutting Cas12 nucleases
