In Memory of the Resilient Refugees of Sudan šŸŒ On this #WorldRefugeeDay, DARFUR NETWORK FOR HUMAN RIGHTS pays heartfelt tribute to the indomitable spirit of #Sudanese #refugees. Displaced by relentless conflict and unimaginable hardship, they have shown remarkable courage and resilience in the face

The Smiths will forever remain one of the most significant bands out of England from the early 80’s and beyond. What those guys did in only 5 years, ā€˜82 - ā€˜87, is beyond incredible. Hopefully, Morrisey uses a mobile phone now, or not. Sleep on, Andy Rourke. ā¤ļø

Best song I had the distinct pleasure of listening to in 2025 is Made Kuti’s Wait And See. Poignant lyricism draped in shawls of musical instrument elitism; loud horns silently confluencing with the percussions’ flow, modulations uplifted by backing chorals. A masterpiece!

Stumbled upon ProVerb’s ā€œMy Vers’d Loveā€ on my friend’s MP3 player eons ago (not in the Stone Age, but you see what I mean, or not). Eons later, I’m yet to hear a greater eulogy to Hip Hop than that Classic. I hope ProVerb is doing okay wherever he’s at now.

Whoever curated the nexus of Polo Ralph Lauren and Ralph Lauren Purple Label, debuting on a Milan runway, is totally brilliant. Even more brilliant, is playing Nina Simone’s ā€œSinnermanā€ as the models did their Preppy and New Yorker walks.

Seen Train Dreams an unhealthy number of times for a movie so brilliantly piteous. While I’m inadvertently haunted by Will Patton’s narratorial style, I’m more intrigued by how Nick Cave felt writing the OST knowing he’s sadly, lost 2 sons. Grief heals what it doesn’t kill.

I re-listened to Simon & Garfunkel’s ā€˜The Sound of Silence’ and authored an academic paper no one may ever read: ā€œPeople Talking Without Speakingā€: The Sound of Silence as a Critique of Algorithmic Conformity and the Annihilation of Genuine Social Interaction.

Unspoken stages of grief: 1. Feeling guilty for inadvertently forgetting what a deceased loved one looked like. 2. Seemingly despising a place, song, food, art or scent a deceased love one fancied. 3. Randomly running into their friends you had deliberately avoided.
