I have just concluded a very insightful and inspiring visit to FAO in Emergencies FAO Livestock ECTAD team at FAO Zambia where I was able to discuss #healthsystem strengthening, #Onehealth, #biosecurity enhancement and #Pandemic prevention with USAID/Zambia and other partners.
It is critical to expand our FAO in Emergencies FAO Livestock ECTAD network and partnership to enrich capacity development solutions to achieve #OneHealth goals.
Was thrilled to represent FAO in Africa in a three-day workshop to review the The African Union inter-Agency regional #Zoonoticdiseases control strategy where I emphasized on the importance of building sustainable health systems and #OneHealth mainstreaming.

SARE workshop participants agreed on the need to immediately produce Standard Operating Procedures for rabies outbreak investigation and observation of suspected rabid dogs. Kudos to FAO Mozambique for proactively taking action to improve preparedness and response capacity to control HPAI, a global persistent zoonotic health threat with devastating impacts on trade and livelihoods.
