I met with Chief Inspector Paul Hogben, Rochford District borough commander to discuss operations, crime and community engagement. All of these issues have come up on the doorstep, and are key concerns of residents.

Fantastic results in Southend City Council last night, with Labour now the largest party. The Conservatives went backwards in Rochford too. These results show that Labour is making progress in the places needed that will decide the general election.

Yesterday I had a long and fruitful chat with CitizensAdviceSonSea CEO Rizwana Awan about the crucial work that they do supporting Southend residents. It was inspiring to hear how focused Rizwana and her team are on enhancing the support for service users.

We've been out across London and the country this week for some brilliant The Labour Party candidates.

For Sadiq Khan in Finchley with Sarah Sackman, Chipping Barnet with Dan Tomlinson, and Harrow East with Primesh Patel, and for Southend Labour with Bayo Alaba.
