We had a lovely Carol Service today and many thanks to the staff York Minster. Music ranged from āAway in a mangerā arranged Philip Moore Banks Music to an arrangement of āI wonder as I wanderā by Mark Edwards, a long standing colleague and friend. Thanks to all involved.

I was pleased to confirm our repertoire for the Chapel Choir visit to St Paul's Cathedral on Monday 10 March 2025. A mostly unaccompanied, Lenten programme that will help us to focus on phrasing, balance and blend. It will be our 6th visit in my time as DoM, and it is always special.

Iāve enjoyed singing with ā¦York Minster Choirā© this week for a couple of services. I was engaged to deliver bottom notes in this piece today, which works beautifully in the spacious acoustic of the building. The girls sang very well and itās always a pleasure to dep.

I'm looking forward to directing this concert. It has been a couple of years since we featured the full School Choir of 160 pupils in an oratorio performance and it is such a valuable experience. I'm always grateful to our friends York Minster for their help with these events.

It was good to catch up with a number of old friends on Saturday singing with Durham Cathedral Choir Durham Cathedral. A lovely event including soloist Alexander Armstrong to raise funds for the cathedralās music.

Family trip ā¦Ronnie Scott's Jazz Clubā© tonight, Jane Monheit backed by an outstanding trio. Some great swing numbers. Always a joy to be in the club and a long time since my last visit.

A highly successful and enjoyable concert with York Minster Choir tonight. The children did very well indeed and there were some super soloists. Nice to be involved depping in.
