After 3 weeks of deployment in Tafea province, I decided to abandon ship.🤣 At Mystery island, off Aneityum island.
A favorite stop over for cruise ships and anyone needing to unwind and recharge their batteries.
Certainly did it for me.

Don't let the view fool you. The beautiful bay and its rugged coastline belie a remoteness like no other in Vanuatu. Add to that, the fact that there has been no nurses for over 6 months. Suffice to say, the Futuna people were grateful to see our team

Back at Hapilan, Erromango island. One of the remotest communities in Vanuatu, let alone Tafea province. Thanks to Heidi Bootle, our Respond Global teams are supporting provincial vaccinations efforts in remote areas like Hapilan. The journey to get here took us 90 muddy mins😊

Supporting the vaccination campaign in provincial communities, Respond Global has partnered with Heidi Bootle and 🇻🇺MOH to deliver vaccines to children throughout Vanuatu. As a logistics platform, MV HELPR-1 gets us into remote areas to undeserved rural communities. #RGTeam 💪🏾

Medical outreach on a ship isn't a new concept. It is so rewarding to be able to take specialists out of their clinics and into the field. Sharing their expertise.

Although it looks like the gates of hell are opening up, responding to such disasters is quite simple.

At Herald Bay landing on Futuna island, the swells hide the dangers underwater as you approach. Take a look. Multiple sharp rocks lined with seaweed and algae mean we are the mercy of the elements and Respond Global teams wait patiently to time their approach ashore.
