Another day of shorts and t-shirt weather on Barra and a few more migrants about now. Our second Barred Warbler of the autumn was uncooperative in Castlebay and at least 3 Spotted Flycatchers were seen; it's unusual to get multiple Spot Flies here in autumn.

⚠️YELLOW #Oban #Castlebay 21Sep Due to a technical issue with MV Isle of Lewis' engine that requires further investigation, the 13:30 departing Oban is liable to disruption or cancellation at short notice.

An altogether quieter day's birding on Barra than the same date last year, with avian interest coming from the east rather than west. Our first Yellow-browed Warbler of the season was bouncing about in the willows at Glen along with a Wood Warbler.

Cracking views of the Wood Warbler again at Glen this morning and just downhill from there at Garrygall we bumped into Barra's 3rd Barred Warbler of the season. Also 3 Pied Flycatchers, a Spotted Fly and a Garden Warbler around the island made for a good morning's patch birding.

Red-throated Diver catching the last rays of the evening sun in front of our house this evening. A fine looking bird even though its breeding plumage is starting to fade a little.
