Last week, a driver ran through Stanton Park & hit a tree. Thankfully, no one was hurt and they were arrested & charged with a DUI. At the very least, incidents like this should come with a loss of driving privileges, which is why the STEER Act is crucial for neighborhood safety.

The Supreme Court decision in the Grants Pass case paves the way to criminalize homelessness. Our unhoused neighbors need permanent supportive housing, access to health care, and to be treated with basic dignity. We cannot arrest our way out of homelessness.

The Grants Pass decision is horrifying. Homelessness is not a crime. Poverty is not a crime. Punishment is not just wrong, it's ineffective. What a disgusting, inhumane outcome.

On Tuesday, DC will evict 14 people from a homeless encampment. It is near an air vent that they use to stay cool. Most are over 60 years old. 10 were displaced by Joe Biden's and Mayor Muriel Bowser's recent evictions from Foggy Bottom. This helps nobody and makes homelessness worse.

Kicking off the school year with DC Deputy Mayor for Education, Mayor's Office of Community Affairs, and Mayor Muriel Bowser! Welcoming students back for the new year and reminding drivers that safety is a choice. Remember to slow down to 15 MPH in school zones as students head back to class. #SlowDownDC #BackToSchool

Happy 14th birthday CaBi. I say this every year but I truly believe it is the best thing to happen to biking in DC. We are so lucky to have such a robust and popular publicly owned system that continues to grow and innovate every year Here’s to the next 14 years #bikedc
