👥 Researchers from the BBRC have participated in the Euro-PAD symposium, dedicated to the latest developments in Alzheimer's research and the future of the European EPAD and AMYPAD projects.

There are more than 150 active clinical trials to test potential treatments for Alzheimer's, and most aim to halt the associated biological changes, such as the accumulation of TAU or amyloid beta proteins.

👥 A new study led by Institut de Recerca Sant Pau suggests that +95% of individuals homozygous for APOE4 over 65 show biological characteristics of AD pathology in the brain or biomarkers of the disease in CSF and PET scans.

👉 The research includes data from the BBRC's Alfa cohort.

📢 Dr Gonzalo Sánchez-Benavides (Gonzalo Sánchez) has received a Miguel Servet 2022 grant, awarded by Instituto de Salud Carlos III (ISCIII).

🧠🔍 It will allow the researcher to advance his research on the early detection of cognitive changes in the preclinical phase of AD.
