(29/30) This middle-8 duet (beautiful job Rhys & Maddie) was a late addition when we realised Robin & Marian’s love story hadn’t really concluded. “All I Want for Xmas” is an obvious Mariah nod. And they nearly get a romantic clinch but…hey, it's still CBeebies. #cbeebiespanto

(27/30) That Grandfather Oak snow magic looks really effective on screen. It’s actually a paper pellet secreted in Ben’s hand, blown up by a reverse-vacuum cleaner at the edge of the stage in the pit. Lo-fi! #cbeebiespanto

(26/30) When the producers explained the premise of this bit, their brief was “Mission Impossible, Mission Impossible, POP x 4”. So we delivered a pastiche of that, down to the trademark one bar flute trill at the start. #cbeebiespanto

(25/30) Kate majorly rewrote her banjo part for this song, which is what helps make it so exciting. Also the super-cool way Maddie Moate and Rhys spin around with their bows. As a result the kids in the theatre were buzzing, the “Robin” chant completely unprompted. #cbeebiespanto

(24/30) This was the first song written, and it’s really just 8 lines long. Relies heavily on @hayleydelharrison’s choreo, developed over Facetime: her in her kitchen, us randomly in a bar in the middle of Soho. Should be “at” the target, but “to” is nicer to sing. #cbeebiespanto

(19/30) Early on when writing this YMCA section we considered spelling out every single letter of F O X T R O T until @hayleydelharrison pointed out a) that would take most of the show, and b) “Trot” is a more fun dance move. She was right, as she usually is. #cbeebiespanto

(18/30) Instead of “You’ve got to love Foxtrot”, “We’re nuts about Foxtrot” was an early potential lyric, cos they’re squirrels innit. #cbeebiespanto
