Eavesdropping on The Military? No Problem! NATO and US Air Force radio networks frequently still use shortwave transmissions that - depending on the time of day and radio propagation conditions-can be received worldwide by anyone: youtube.com/shorts/dOV4amY… #hamradio #electronics

Did you know that the color of an LED depends on temperature? That's why a yellow LED turns green when dipped in liquid nitrogen. The color of the light depends on the band gap in the semiconductor material - and that band gap changes with temperature. As the material gets

A typical example: A 5V device is supposed to be powered from the 12V vehicle electrical system. Online, you'll quickly find a matching step-down converter - 12V in, 5V out. Sounds simple, and usually it works. But this crude CISPR 25 test setup shows that the step-down converter

In this video, a widely used step-down converter based on a Chinese LM2596 clone is examined with regard to its electromagnetic compatibility (EMC). The goal is to clearly illustrate the EMC challenges and evaluate various suppression techniques. youtu.be/o8WcP97md_w

This video tests a popular LM2596 buck converter for EMC compliance (CISPR 25). Common in DIY projects, it often fails emission limits. Real data shows what works-and what doesn't-using LISNs and a near-standard test setup. youtube.com/watch?v=o8WcP9… #electronics #hamr

RF current probes measure high-frequency currents without breaking circuits—-just clamp around a cable. Fast, reliable, and ideal for EMC testing, they're key tools EMI troubleshooting. #Electronics #hamradio #emc #emi

EMC issues can sneak in unexpectedly - your cables might radiate more noise than your circuit. Learn the key difference between common and differential mode noise and which causes more radiated trouble. Watch the video to troubleshoot effectively: youtube.com/watch?v=HRjXgo…

Worth knowing: Inductor orientation does matter in practice. Winding direction affects electric field noise! For fast switching, connect the start (dotted end) of the inductor to the switching node to minimize EMI. #electronics #electrical #hamradio #maker
