Fantastic welcome by the cadets attending the Patton Academy JROTC program that is a leadership pathway within the Farragut Career Academy in Chicago, Illinois! The cadets really impressed the Cadet Command Program Advisory Committee!

Had another fantastic opportunity to experience some of Chicago’s culture today in what’s known as “Little Village”...we ate at “Mi Tierra” a favorite Mexican place in this part of town! The PAC has been well treated by COL Baggio and his team!

A great visit today to Englewood STEM HS - recognizing SFC Kevin Dunn with 15-year JROTC Service Pin (he already has 17 years, I’ll be back in 3 for the 20-year pin!) A great leadership team along with Senior Army Instructor - MAJ Dashuan Stallings. Great seeing cadets in class!

Marine Leadership Academy HS visit Monday. 5-year JROTC pin to XO - Maj Marius Burrell & 10-year pin to MGySgt Eugenio Bautista - with his cadets. Great Marine Leadership Team - to include Col Larry Kaifesh, SgtMaj Paul Archie & Superintendent Erin Galfer. Awesome being back!

JROTC Executive Director’s Coin of Excellence - awarded to CPT Mike Goin - The CVCA HS Teacher of the month for April. Great to see CPT Goin and his teammate - SFC Arrington Fultz today.

Rickover Naval Academy Cadet Commander & key leadership briefed Commander Joe Hankins - Director NJROTC Area 3 and Cadre from CPS JROTC as part of their Annual Military Inspection. These cadets are awesome! This was Area 3’s first in-person cadet brief since COVID. Outstanding!

Great visit with Manley JROTC! Presenting coins to the Cadet Battalion Commander & Battalion Executive Officer for next year. Great potential leaders - challenging them to be the best citizens they can!!!!

My youngest Giovanni earned a spot on the Team USA U-18 Indoor (Box) Lacrosse Team and will play in the World Championship Tournament in Utica, NY from August 21-24. Proud of boy!!!!

AUG 24: USA def. Canada for Gold - World U18 International Indoor Junior Lacrosse Championship, 13-12 in OT! Lost pool game to Canada 10-18; then beat Poland 24-2 & Israel 22-8. Most exciting game ever! Down 8-11 under 10 min, tied 12-12 regulation & won sudden death . Go USA!
